Ambaritsa Hut

I visited Ambaritsa hut once for now, in the late fall of 2015 starting from Smesite locality. The slope is relatively serious, but only at the beginning. After reaching the meadow with hunting boom lift - about 2/3rds of the entire path it becomes easier.

Located at 1503 meters altitude on the northern slopes of Stara Planina mountain. It consists of two buildings - old built 1935 - 1936 year with a capacity of 52 beds and a new building built from 1953 to 1960, with a capacity of 58 beds. The new hut is a massive two-storey building with inside bathrooms. The old hut is also a two-storey building with outdoor bathrooms. The buildings are supplied with water and electricity, heated by solid fuel stoves, kitchen and dining room, kiosk, TV lounge.

The hut can be reached by:

• Smesite locality - 3,00hours. The area is located from Trojan city on 17km asphalt road.
• Nezabravka hut (with chair lift from Sopot and in Dobrila) - 3h.
• Karlovo city - 6,00h. (through Hubavets hut).
• Sopot city – 6,00h.

• Levski peak (until 1942 was called Ambaritsa - 2166 m) - 2,30h.
• Kupen peak (2169 m) - 3,00h.
• Marko’s hole - 3,00h.
• Dobrila hut - 3,00h.

• Hubavets hut - 4,00h.
• Pleven hut - 6,00h. (through Turtle peak)
• Yavorova luka hut - 2,00h.
