Mount Lisets is located near Teteven city over Glozhene monastery in south direction. The peak is a vast meadow, which opens indescribable views of the Stara Planina mountain and to the north-western Bulgaria. Figuratively speaking, there may encompass a look over huge part of our country - from Botev peak to almost Kom peak.
On the last day of January 2015, I decided to visit this peak on the way to Glozhene monastery, but from the road to the village of “Golian izvor” from Teteven. The road reachs its highest place, where is a dirt road that takes up to the Lisets peak.
By the ridge climb it is easy and pleasant, like a dirt road in the middle turns into path.
After about an hour of walking, I was already on top. As much as I try to describe the view from above will not succeed. So I hope the pictures to make it better than me.
I didn’t got to Glozhene monastery because the time gets short and I was about disembarking, drive and then climb to “Momina Polyana” hut, which is located about 30 kilometers from there in a straight line.
In addition Glozhene monastery, at the foot of Mount Lisets is located Morovitsa cave.
